Features And Advantages
- Alpha Suspensions incorporates an almost 90-degree angle between the trailing arm and the shock absorber at ride height which is ideal for optimum performance. This results in a smoother ride and protection of the mechanical integrity of the entire installation.
- We’ve developed an innovative bump stop for the top shock to protect the shock absorber by limiting the travel of the trailing arm assembly at full extension e.g. when the wheel is in the air. This also holds the coil spring in position and protects the shock absorber.
- Our suspensions are designed with less overhang on the stub axles, resulting in greater strength and stability.
- The coil spring is placed in the optimum position on top of the axle for improved performance.
- Rigidity is improved by double locking tow adjustment and camber adjustment on the inside far end, gaining maximum mechanical advantage.
- Al-Ko brake plates are used which are specially designed to be used with the Al-Ko ESC system.
- We use quality Japanese bearings in our suspensions, mainly brands like: NTN and Koyo.
Hydraulic Disc Brake
Hydraulic disc brake calipers come in two varieties, stainless steel or DacrometTM coated cast iron, both built to withstand saltwater corrosion. In addition, both types of calipers are fitted with stainless steel pistons for extra corrosion resistance while still being able to retain their performance. Hydraulic brake systems are the most common type of caliper found on trailers. This system allows for multiple axles to be braked with just one set of lines, making them popular for trailers with loaded weights greater than 2000 kg due to the independent control and breakaway facility.
This system is designed with a safety feature that causes the brakes on your trailer to automatically be activated if they’re accidentally disconnected from the towing vehicle. Hydraulic disc brakes are a great way to fulfill this legal obligation. The IQ7’s simple system can also be operated using hydraulic override couplings for trailers under 2000 kg GTM, which makes them perfect in many situations.
The 15mm calipers are suitable for use with disc hubs and rotors of all thicknesses. Caliper bleed screws can be swapped to achieve left-hand or right-hand operation, just make sure you always set it to the highest part of the caliper when doing this.
